Bowdoin College completes Maine's largest solar panel technology array

BRUNSWICK — Construction most typically associated with Maine's largest solar power complex has always been complete with the installation of a ground-mount number at the former Brunswick Naval Minespil Station.

The system, composed of more than 8, 000 solar panels at four destinations, will produce 1 . 2 megawatts of power, or about 6 percent of the needs of Bowdoin College.

Instruction President Barry Mills said typically the partnership with SolarCity "reduces Bowdoin's dependence on fossil fuels and makes sense during the college economically. "

Under the accommodement, SolarCity financed and built a good system and will own and maintain the descendencia installations, while Bowdoin will get all generated power.
